Founding Story

Born from the field observations
of two METU engineers.

Over the years we encountered the same problem in different fields. Designing high-pressure systems for defence and automotive projects, or coordinating logistics in earthquake zones. The need for power was everywhere, but every existing solution required a different compromise.

The question grew clearer: why is there no clean, reliable, mobile power system that can simply be deployed where it is needed? Diesel generators are polluting and noisy. Battery systems have energy density limitations. Grid connection is simply not available in many scenarios.

H2Via emerged as the answer to this question. A hydrogen-based mobile power unit — clean, silent and capable of being deployed wherever needed.

Built his career on the thermodynamics and management of energy in its most challenging form — high-pressure gases. Across the industry he has led high-pressure system design and business development spanning a wide range from defence to civil energy projects.

With an MBA layered on top of his METU Chemical Engineering foundation, Fırat represents a rare profile capable of running engineering and business development simultaneously. At H2Via he has focused both competencies on hydrogen — the most critical link in the sustainable energy transition.

A high-altitude mountaineer and ORDOS (Middle East Search and Rescue Association) member, Fırat brings instant decision-making experience above 5,000 metres and logistics management from disaster sites such as the Hatay earthquake to the safety-first engineering culture at H2Via.

During his extensive Project Engineering experience in the defence industry, he worked on cryogenic gas cooling systems for infrared seekers, successfully managing project coordination between clients and the company to deliver critical defence programmes.

His strong heat-mass balance, process and unit design knowledge and P&ID read/write competency stemming from his METU Chemical Engineering background forms the backbone of H2Via's system design processes.

He is pursuing a Master's degree in Computational Science and Engineering at TU Wien. This academic background directly strengthens H2Via's system modelling and computational engineering capacity.
